No Icons

On occasion, after moving the mouse to leave the Bionic screen saver and use the computer, the desktop appears without any icons.
The only way that I know of, to get a normal desktop, is to Ctrl-Alt Delete and perform a restart.

The Bionic screen saver is on 64bit DELL XPS8300 with i7-2600 CPU running Windows 7 professional.

I have the display and disk to 'never' shut down.

Any other settings I need to be aware of?
