Re: New projects

Post by Dr Who Fan »

Sourcefinder /Duchamp is a new POGS beta project.

NOTE: Require BOINC + Vbox to run project apps.

On my Win 8.1 system it uses aprox 96 MB RAM + what ever the Vbox Virtual Machine/Wrapper needs to run.

ABOUT:
Sourcefinder is about testing the performance and quality of the Duchamp Sourcefinding application. We've built a simulated cube of the sky containing various radio sources, and it's the job of Duchamp to work out where the sources are. We plan on running Duchamp over the whole cube of simulated data to work how many of the radio sources in the cube it can find. Duchamp will need to be able to identify correct sources while keeping false positives to a minimum.
Stats are being exported (found in usual place).

It would appear that they have reset their stats also.

I guess I should add this as a new project rather than trashing the old stats?

Cheers,

Neil.

That sounds like a good idea, specially if he's starting at zero and he's calling the project "Climate@Home version 2"

The project's run by Kai Liu, a PhD student at George Mason Univ., and he's still working out the bugs..

There two new projects not in your stats list that I know of:
odlk
XANSONS for COD

Also:
1) Any way you can get the "All-In-One" (Overall project totals) line to stick as the first line after the column headers and not be sorted alphabetically (currently 3rd on my stats list) with rest of project names?

2) Please change >
a) "GoofyxGrid@Home" to "Grid computing center". Also note the NEW URL & that stats export resumed several weeks ago.
b) "Sourcefinder" to "Duchamp Sourcefinder".
c) "the SkyNet POGS" to "POGS (theSkyNet)".
They are the official project names and how they are listed at other sites.

Hi,

Thanks for the heads up on the two new projects - they have now been added.

1) Unfortunately, not as it stands due to the way the grid and data store work together. However, I will bear this in mind for any future version of the site.
2a) Done.
2b) Done.
2c) I've left theSkyNet POGS as it is for now as this is how the project is named on their web site?
