LHC@Home is Testing LHC+@Home - Possible to Add to Stats?
LHC@Home is Testing LHC+@Home - Possible to Add to Stats?
I'm testing their new test4theory@home application which uses Boinc but operates within Oracle's Virtual Box.
Will that appear in the project list eventually?

Hi,
Yes, once they make it into production I expect they will be added. However, they're pre-alpha at the mo.
Cheers,
Neil.

Btw, there's a little typo in it... Test4Thoery@Home. Can you please change that? THX.
Re: LHC@Home is Testing LHC+@Home - Possible to Add to Stats?
After testing is finished it will be called LHC+@home in any case, not sure when that will be though. Also not sure if the original LHC@home will continue of not.

This is the second attempt CERN is using VM for LHC physics experiment. See this thread at LHC@Home.After testing is finished it will be called LHC+@home in any case, not sure when that will be though. Also not sure if the original LHC@home will continue of not.
In the official project URL, they say:
"LHC++@Home is based at CERN and uses the CERN-developed CernVM and BoincVM systems to harness volunteer cloud computing power for the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC) physics experiments. We will host several sub-projects as we work with different physics groups.
The Test4Theory@Home sub-project seeks to engage volunteers in theoretical physics computations for the LHC at CERN. The project allows participants to run simulations of particle collisions on their home computers."
So it may be called LHC++@Home.

Also LHC@Home has moved to http://lhcathomeclassic.cern.ch/sixtrack/. The currently reported stats don't include credits gained since the move, just those from the original location. Probably just a change needed in where they're being picked up from.
Thanks,
Ray

Just spotted that this is already being dealt with in the New Projects thread so my post from a couple of mins ago can probably be deleted without publishing.
For info; updated stats including those gained since the move are appearing on another stats counter I looked at. It appears all credits from before the change are now counted in the current total.
Thanks again,
Ray

Neil, Test4Theory (T4T) is asking us to use a new URL to attach to the project. Apparently the old one will work for a while but eventually will stop.
The new one is: http://lhcathome2.cern.ch/test4theory/
