AOL Users banned from signing up

Post by Neil »

Hi all,

I have decided to ban AOL users from signing up to my site from this day forward as I'm tired of answering e-mails from AOL users about lost registration e-mails.

I have contacted AOL about the problem, but they don't appear to be doing anything about it.

"I kann-eee take it anymore!"

Why can't there just be an option to set up the password on sign up :?: , gets rid of the need for registration E-mails then.

Saying that I suppose if they lost there password they could never get it back.

Looks like AOL users will just have to go through another E-mail program if they can

The registration e-mails ensure that the user is using their own e-mail address. It uses the same principle as these forums.

I guess so - I have no idea.

Basically, it seems that AOL have a spam filter that just drops e-mails that fit a particular 'signature', without alerting the user.
