Hi,

The Seti stats haven't updated for the last two days for the following reasons:

13th -> MySQL query timed out and the script aborted.
14th -> MySQL server shutdown (a new error message for me!)

The error message from the 13th is quite common with the larger projects as there's a lot of data to crunch through.

The reason mine and other people's stats show the 14th is because this is the date of the newest stats out of all the projects we crunch for. As Chief only crunches for Seti, his sig shows the 12th, which is correct for now.

Hopefully the update should go ok tonight.

As always, you can check out the status of the databases at http://boinc.mundayweb.com/one/info.php.

Hope this helps,

Neil.

He could try the following (at a command prompt):

Code: Select all

nslookup www.mundayweb.com
ping www.mundayweb.com
If it can't find the site, then something is up with the DNS. It would be interesting to know his ISP.

Just read the latest posts in that thread. It's got to be his ISP or his Firewall settings.

That's cos he can't access the MundayWeb domain. I would suspect that he won't be able to access any of the other sites hosted by my host either.

The latest stats update from SETI is still 12/1/06

I expect the update will be run later today as per normal and it should update with the latest.

Nope...

Remember that users URLs point to the MundayWeb domain and the site holds all the data, not the mirrors - they only generate the graphics.

What happens is this:

1. Request is received by the stats.php scripts
2. User data found and retreived
3. Mirror URL is randomly chosen and header request issued to redirect the user's browser to the mirror
4. Mirror script receives request with the necessary variables to create the user's graphic.
5. Ta-da!

I have no idea why he can't access the site. I haven't had any e-mails from anyone else saying they can't access the site, but then my e-mail account is a MundayWeb based one!!

Are there any other Tiscali users out there??

Neil.
