World Community Grid

Post by Halifax--lad »

As you may or not be aware World Community Grid went live on BOINC only on the LINUX version

Neil they export the XML stats and the link is here

http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/boinc/stats/

The project is active and advertised everywhere so it will be fine to add this stat to your Stat Service.

Edit: - Unable to find an Account ID anywhere on my profile to be able to link up to the stat service have asked about it but not got a proper answer im guessing BOINC is new to the developers they gave me an answer of where to find my Account Key which wasn't what I wanted.

I have said it may be a good idea for them to have dedicated webpages for this BOINC project in the style we are all used to would make it easier for all they could just post a link to the site from there main page

Suppose I must give them time its only been active for 1 day.

Another Edit: - They have now realised what I meant and they had forgotten to include the Account ID info on the profile settings, to be added soon

Hi,

Just checked out their stats folder, and it appears they do not provide team stats at the moment.

So for the time being, I haven't added them to the site.

If any eagle-eyed person notices that they have started to provide team stats, let me know! ;-)

Although there are user and host xml files, there is no team xml file at the moment.

I need this file in order to provide the team stats as well.

Cheers,

Hi Neil this is the response I got

We will not be providing the team file. The team information is stored on the website database and not in the BOINC database. Perhaps in the future we will be able to implement a change that will allow this to happen, however, for now we will not have the team file available.

Anyway for you to work around this :?: :?:

Hi,

Thanks for the info.

There's always one!

I should be able to put a workaround in the update script.

Cheers,

Neil.

Hi again,

I've implemented a workaround and as a result added the project to my site.

Any problems, let me know.

Cheers,

Neil.

Think I'll be giving this project a miss. They seem a bit unfocused in what they're going to provide. Also, their only current project is yet another protein folding predictor.

This happens if your stats are not in the XML files. Usually my site would try to use the HTML stats instead, but WCG don't provide the standard WCG stats.
