SETI@home stats not updating?

Post by DrBob »

My counter stats for SETI@home have not updated since 2/21 which by coincidence is the day they switched to their new ISP.
Anyone else having this problem?

Hi,

I'm currently away on business - I'll check it out when I get back next weekend.

According to e-mails from my update scripts, the Seti user XML file is currently corrupted with duplicate user entries. As a result my scripts will not update the stats if it detects any possible data mismatches.

They will update once the XML files are not corrupted.

I only have very limited Internet access, but will try when I can to keep an eye on the site.

Cheers,

Neil (in the US)

Hi again,

It appears the Seti XML user file has sorted itself out and updates have resumed as normal.

Cheers,

Neil.

Actually it seems like they didn't, the last update for SETI was on
05:23:04 26/02/2007 GMT which is a week ago... :(

My sig says 588922 but I now have just over 600000 CS in SETI

Yeah, I'm not crunching SETI at the moment, but the Widget has 24/02/2007 as the date even though the projects I am crunching are updating.

Hi,

The Seti XML user stats have duplicate user entries in them at the moment, which causes problems with MySQL, as you can't have two unique entries.

This happened last week as well whilst I was away, but the stats were ok for a couple of days, but they're screwed again.

There's not much I can do my end, but wait for them to fix their XML files.

Cheers,

Neil.

Hi,

Following a workaround I put in my update script to skip over duplicate entries in the Seti@Home user XML file, the stats are now up to date again.

Hi,

The duplicate entry problem for Seti has reared its head again. This has also been discussed on the BOINC mailing list.

It turns out that this is a "feature" of the revised db_dump script at Seti and it causes trouble for stats sites like myself.

I have re-enabled my earlier fix, but it does increase the length of time that the script takes to run. :-(

Hopefully all will be well tomorrow.

Cheers,

Neil.

Hi,

The Seti stats still haven't updated.

I've upped the logging to see what is going on.

Cheers,

Neil.

SETI isn't updating again, even if the statistics page says so, it doesn't.
I just beat 900K in SETI, the day before yesterday and according to the stats sig, I still have only 899(something)K :?

Hi,

It's not my fault - Seti have not updated their stats since September 3rd as can be seen from http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/stats/.

So my stats script is running as normal, it just hasn't got access to the latest stats.

Cheers,

Neil.
