Site is back AGAIN!

Post by Neil »

Hi all,

The site has been restored from back-ups.

Unfortunately, some parts of the MySQL databases restored were missing, including the database for the forum.

As a result, I had to resort to using a back-up from MundayWeb's old home, so about a week's worth of posts and new user accounts have been lost.

I'm still looking at the BOINC databases to see what's messed up.

Cheers,

Neil.

Hi again,

The site is now back fully and should be working for you. The DNS has been updated, so it may be 24 hours before some of you can access the site.

Most of the site was restored from back-ups, but all the MySQL databases were f****d. I have managed to restore them using the previous back-ups from my old hosting company and by running the stats updates scripts.

Unfortunately, any users that registered after 9am on May 29th will have to register again.

For a full low-down of tonight's activities, see http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_th ... p?id=31542.

I'm off to bed! Zzzzzzzzzzzz

When I enter boinc.mundayweb.com into my address bar, I get redirected to http://www.mundayweb.com. Also, the link to the boinc subdomain redirects to http://www.mundayweb.com...

Yep - it'll be the DNS. I expect your ISP has cached the DNS entries for the MundayWeb domain.

Hopefully, it should have updated by the time of this post! It's also possible that your web browser has cached the address. Restarting it should do the trick or clearing the cache/history folders.

Hope this helps,

Neil.

I hope you've slapped its wrists and told it that it won't get any more nice new hardware unless it behaves.

Next time I recommend the Basil Fawlty approach:
