Looking for a new team... any suggestions?

Post by Neil »

Hi all,

I've decided to leave my current team and go in search for a new home...

So, any recommendations? Why should I join your team? etc.

Looking for a large UK based team basically!

Feel free to post your suggestions ;-)

Neil.

Hi Neil,

Can I make you a BIASED suggestion?

Why not join the UK BOINC Team - after all you DO qualify, as you are based in UK (although joining is not dependant on being a UK resident - everyone is welcome..!)

The advantages we can offer:

1) We're about to go into 3rd place in the UK stats (overall)
2) We're about to become the 1st place UK Team crunching for SETI
3) We're growing all the time - now over 510 members.
4) We support ALL the BOINC Projects
5) We have a very active forum (also based on phpBB, like yours :D )
6) We have a dedicated Team website, with links to all the stats sites, carefully built up over time, so Team members can see where they are in the rankings).
7) And we like to have some FUN - hence the "Crunches" where we organise the Team membes to crucnh for specific projects, usually over a week-end once a month - this is just to build up some Team spirit.
eight) We've just set up a "frappr" map, so members can see where everyone is (this is in advance of our Teams 2nd Birthday on 23rd June, when we're trying to organise a little "shindig" somewhere central so most members can get to it).
9) We now have our own stats logo's compiled in real time using the "stats on your mobile" project files.
10) We even have our own up-to-date per-project mailing list, auto-generated from each of the projects, (with thanks to David Anderson of BOINC for making a change to the BOINC XML's outputs after we requested this !!)
11) We have some other SECRET plans to generate even more team interest...will tell you more sometime.

So please pay us a visit:

Team website: http://www.ukboincteam.org.uk/uk-boinc-team.html

Team Forum: http://www.ukboincteam.org.uk/uk-boinc-team-forum.html

We'd love to have you join us...!

best regards,
