Well, the obvious one would be to keep up support for other projects as they come up. The Lattice Project seems to be the next one that'll be ready to go. (Heck, I just noticed that the Knights Who Say NI! already have a team on Lattice, even though there's been no public release yet.)

Limiting the number of projects shown would be a good one, but I'm not sure how well that would combine with additional font support. Perhaps a simpler solution would be to just allow a maximum size for the graphic specified by the user? Just a thought.

Hi,

I am always on the look out for new BOINC projects and will add them providing that they provide XML stats and that the project is public.

Thanks for pointing out the Lattice Project - I also have my eye on another project which is currently in the alpha stage.

Another one? Which is that? PlanetQuest, or another that I'm as yet unaware of?

It's in the alpha stage at present and the authors don't want the URL of the project's home page advertised at present unfortunately.

Sorry I can say anymore!

i was wondering if you could make the persons rank within the team visible on the team graphic...i know...it's probably alot more difficult than i can imagine to do this...but something like the name of the team member followed by that members rank out of total team members..example:
dan (burr) michel: rank 21 of 121.

thanks for all you do...with all the new members joining boinc projects everyday...your graphics are like little billboards advertising each team...many teams don't realize what an advantage it is attracting new members when the current members have a team graphic to display...i like the fact that people on the boards can see what team i'm on and investigate further if they want...i really do believe it does help recruit team members...thanks again...dan

Hi Dan,

Thanks for your kind comments.

You're not the only one to have inquired about rank positions within teams. It does cause some confusion when comparing my Seti Classic and Seti BOINC graphics as the former does display a user's ranking within their team in comparison to my BOINC counters, which show world rankings.

It is a little extra work to calculate team ranks due to the vast amount of data that my databases hold, but is by no means impossible.

I'll keep it in mind,

Neil.

Don't know if this is possible but i ask :
when you create your account, it would be (perhaps) interesting if people can choose the order of their stats : alphabetical, highest rank, highest credits... or even not specially when you create the account.
These options would be in fact always available.

Hi Nightbird,

Following your query in the other thread I have added the task of allowing users to sort their stats to my to-do-list.

I've also noticed a width bug in dan_burr_michel's graphic - must fix that too!

Cheers,

Neil.

Image width bug has now been fixed.

Two mirror sites have yet to be updated though... (m5 and m6).

An idea perhaps crazy.
I own several machines (networked). Can we imagine stats by machine ? (since every machine owns a computer ID) and i would see these "individual" stats on every desktop !

Hi,

Do you mean having access to each computer's stats on their desktops?

If so, at present this is not possible as I do not collect data about individual hosts due to the amount of work involved and the extra space that would be required on my server.

It's an interesting idea though.

Neil.
