You've got zero credit on that project, so you aren't in the user dump.

However, I thought Neil queried the user id directly, and that seems to work for me, but apparently not here.

Yes, I haven't got any work from it yet, I just joined the same day I posted here.
I'll just wait a while and see what happens.
Come to think of it, I haven't got any work at all at the moment.
Oh well, feast or famine.

CONVECTOR

http://convector.fsv.cvut.cz/

CONVECTOR is a research testing project, which use volunteer computing. Now we calculate optimum of discrete optimization problem, at first the optimum of 10-bar truss is searched for. Note that we need approx 8500 cores/days (one core count is 23 years). You can participate by downloading and running a free program on your computer.

CONVECTOR project is the first attempt to volunteer counting on department of mechanics, CTU Prague.

Seems to be a steady supply of work at the moment, but note that there is only a Windows application and that it does not checkpoint (WUs are only a few hours on my very old machines though).

Stats in the expected place :)

Al.

For what it's worth, yet another variant of QCN is now exporting stats ...

http://qcn.twgrid.org/sensor/

About Quake-Catcher Network (Taiwan)
The Quake Catcher Network (QCN) is a research project that uses Internet-connected computers to do research, education, and outreach in seismology. You can participate by downloading and running a free program on your computer. Currently only certain Mac (OS X) PPC and Intel laptops are supported -- recent ones which have a built-in accelerometer. You can also buy an external USB accelerometer.

QCN is based at the Stanford University School of Earth Sciences.

Might be worth adding it as people are running it.

Cheers,

Al.

Hi Neil,

Are you sure? Really, *really* sure? ;)

I can't see it. I can only see 2 QCN/Sensor projects. The Taiwan one only started exporting stats a few days ago. What did you call this one?

From what I understand you have to have a motion sensor in your machine to run this project, isn't that rather strange, machines get moved around ??

Or you can use an external sensor, as I do. I have it mounted on my workshop floor, and have a dedicated PC for it and my Radiation@Home sensor. I also run Primaboinca on it to give it something to do :) It connects to the internet via an 'ethernetr over mains' adaptor to my router in my office.

As for other machines (laptops) with built in sensors, most get used in the same locations anyway. Never seen the point of laptops myself :)

Alas, if the wife gets her way my desk, and PC with its dual monitor set-up will have to be replaced by a laptop if Harry gets a brother or sister in the future :-(
