Widget beep

Post by povaddict » Thu Sep 27, 2007 1:31 am

I have been months trying to figure out what program was causing those strange beeps. It was the same sound as when a popup message appears, but I couldn't find such message from any open application. I JUST found I had the 'beep on update' checkbox set on the BOINC stats widget!

Could you use a custom sound instead of calling beep()? It would cause less confusion since users would know what caused the sound... :?

Hi,

Sorry that this has been driving you mad ;-)

It maybe possible - I'll have to take a look at the Javascript API.

Cheers,

Neil.

Well... There is a play(). Hell, you could even make it say what the new total credits are... 8)

Perhaps you could make it say "Boinc" but sounding like a croaking frog
