Lack of LHC stats

Post by Neil »

I was e-mailed earlier asking about the lack of LHC stats, so I thought I'd share my reply with you all.
I know there was a problem updating, going back to September. But will my account not ever be updated again?
The problem is out of my hands and all other stats sites are in the same boat as me.

As you can see at http://lhcathome.cern.ch/stats/, the directory is missing the XML stats files that my site and the other stats sites rely on. If you take a look at their main page, you will see that they are in the progress of migrating to a new server.

Also, if you look at their message boards, you will see numerous posts about the lack of stats. See this thread in particular: http://lhcathome.cern.ch/forum_thread.php?id=2276

Therefore, you'll have to keep an eye on their web site for any progress on the issue. Everyday, my site automatically checks for stats from all the projects that I support, so when they're available again in the future, your stats will be updated.

Hope this helps,

Neil.

LHC has another problem. I seem to get a new hostID with every contact that I have with their scheduler. It'll probably coincide with the lack of XML files. It's just as if their database forgets its stored hostIDs as soon as they are registered.

Jord, did you try the workaround for the "multiple host problem"?

I'm too lazy to re-type the steps needed, so here's the link to it: http://www.chess960athome.org/alpha/for ... ?id=31#275 :)

As some will have noticed the LHCathome stats are being exported again. We are still waiting on some Work Units for you all to crunch but we hope to see them soon. The website redesign may appear this week too you never know.
Later Days,
Alex and Neasan
