BOINC FAQs 10 year anniversary: BOINC FAQs Wiki
In December of 2006 I approached my friend Neil Munday if it was possible to start a FAQ for BOINC, using his FAQ database code that he had written for the PC Format FAQs . The BOINC FAQ Service was launched 15/12/2006. With its ten years anniversary coming up, I felt that a lot of the information i...

Re: Now, isn't that sad... :-(

Thanks for breaking it free.

Re: Can't use FTP anymore?
I don't think it's a password problem. First WS_FTP ceased to work with the BFS, so that's why I changed to FileZilla. And where it first worked without flaws, it's now stopped. I'll see if I can find another (small footprint) (free) FTP program that can do the job. OK, now using Core FTP which does...

Can't use FTP anymore?
Hi Neil, Did something else at the hosting company change? I had already slight problems lately trying to log in to the server with an FTP client, either I would be at the index and couldn't progress further, or after I made a new map I couldn't enter it without having to log off and log back in, so...

Re: Backslash broken in FAQs
Yup thanks, that fixed it.
Now for me to check through all the FAQs that have the missing slash problem.

Backslash broken in FAQs
Hi Neil,
I found this before, but thought it was something I copied wrong.
But today I see it again. I cannot use the backslash '\' in the FAQs, which makes it difficult to show correct paths in Windows and DOS.
Can you check and see what it is that does this?
Thanks,

Re: Internal Server Error
Ah OK. Since it only happened once (thus far), I'll pass it off to gremlins.
In the mean time, if the email address isn't pointing to either of us, can you change it so it does (change to you)?
I'll leave my email address in the About link.

Re: Internal Server Error
Over the next two weeks, I'll be busy moving the BOINC FAQs to the Wiki. At that time I was trying to add a FAQ to one of the links I had already generated some months ago. I must say, I have thus far only seen the error once, not again ever since. Both the Wiki and the BOINC FAQs slow down enormous...

Is the search broken?
Hey Neil, I just tried a search for 'allow_multiple_clients' (no quotes) in the BFS. It shows no results. Tried it for contents and both, but it doesn't return anything. Which is incorrect, as in the least http://boincfaq.mundayweb.com/index.php?language=1&view=502 and http://boincfaq.mundayweb.com/...

Re: New projects
Please don't pollute another message board with the Albert stuff until they've decided what they want to do themselves :) They already know what they want. It's you who are confused what you want there. What did you not understand of: "Most of the time [email protected] will have no work to run at all, a...

Please don't. They don't do stats. They'll be shutting down those stats this week as well. See http://albert.phys.uwm.edu/forum_thread.php?id=8835 for more information.Neil wrote:I've also added [email protected]
