It goes to show that people will crunch anything. The description of NFS says "NFS@Home is a research project that uses Internet-connected computers to do the lattice sieving step in the Number Field Sieve factorization of large integers."

They lost me after "to do the"... No explanation on the site what's meant with it, people apparently just go "hey, new BOINC project" and look no further.
