You can keep watching this list (find last few persons with credit) and figure out when you might be activated. If you don't remember your join date just go through the list to your name and it will tell you. that may help you too. the list says participant since, thats kind of misleading since that is the date you signed up and not the date you get your account key and actually start participating.
It looks like the last couple of users with credit joined sept 4th and 5th. ID 642 and 671. If you joined after this I would say you are on the waiting list. If you joined before you probally didn't get your email. A lot of users with IDs less than 500 did not get an email, I think they had problems with spam filters blocking them, see the boincstats forum somewhere about this.
